Also, he and his buddy JLJ have decided to put together a video in celebration of their pal Dion's 70th birthday. JLJ reminds us all that GW did a version of the Dion classic, Runaround Sue (as only GW could do it) a while back and has suggested putting it with visuals from Fritz Langs's film Metropolis. Should be incredible!

Meanwhile, Geoff is off to a mountain top above Bear Valley to sift through material and start to strategize the next album. GW: "Gonna hang with mon ami, Jean Louis, for a few days at about 6,000 ft.

We are going to begin with all of Disturbing Music's 2-inch masters. They will undergo baking to preserve content for transferring the songs to digital format. The preservation process includes "baking" each tape to ensure that the magnetized emulsion does not peel off while the tape is being played and digitized. GW has a friend who works at WB Studios (film part) who helped us get some reels baked in the past. He thinks he can get the Sound Dept. to bake this new batch of tapes. Thanks Eric!

Film Sound Department was kind enough to help out as baking old tapes is a big part of what they do nowadays. In fact they were so busy, they couldn't get to Vidiots for about 2 months. LOS ANGELES, CA, September 17, 2004—Digital Activity's Xmas CD, Xmas Vol. 1 will be reissued worldwide this holiday season. A distribution snafu in 2003 was responsible for CD being available in limited quantities last year. The CD features Rock Ambient versions of favorite holiday tunes.

LOS ANGELES, CA, August 27, 2004—BIRTH by Digital Activity has been shipped to be in-store on September 21. A "birth announcement" promotion, offering a free cigar to all who responded, was sent to press, radio and independent retail outlets across the country.

LOS ANGELES, CA, December 20, 2003—"Talk of the Nation" NPR's nationally syndicated topical news program, selected tracks from Digital Activity's XMAS VOL. 1 on two holiday segments this year.

NEW YORK, NY, December 8, 2003—In this year's Rolling Stone Special Collectors' Issue, on the 500 Greatest Albums of All Time. The #196 entry, Nuggets: Original Artyfacts From the First Psychedelic Era 1965-1968, included music from THE OTHER HALF, the first band in which Geoff Westen shared lead vocals and played guitar. "This collection of sixties garage rock became a touchstone for Seventies punks," commented Stone. The list was voted on by a panel of experts comprised of artists, producers, journalists and other business leaders.

LOS ANGELES, CA, September 2, 2003—Printing mistakes on both the book and disc in the manufacturing of Digital Activity's XMAS VOL. 1 CD has necessitated remanufacturing of the entire CD package. The group has missed its September 1 delivery date for national distribution by Morada Music to be in-stores for this year's holiday season. The new completion date will determine whether or not Digital Activity will make delivery in enough time to be available online in 2003.

LOS ANGELES, CA, May 6, 2003—Digital Activity has signed an exclusive distribution deal with Ventura, CA-based Morada Music. The two-year pact will insure national distribution for the indie band whose first release will be XMAS VOL. 1 scheduled for release in October 2003.

Digital Activity will record the CD at Oz Studios aiming for a October release date.

LOS ANGELES, CA, December 29, 2002—After a multi-year hiatus because of other projects, Los Angeles-based Oz Studios announces they will fire-up their production unit, Disturbing Music, in January, 2003.
